Book Backwards

Book Backwards is an online platform for creative content with neuroscience-based articles, original art and web fiction. It was created in collaboration with web designer Patrick Becker, neuroscientist Andrew Koob, and artist John Selburg. Authors sharing their content with Book Backwards include Clara Evers, Isaac Liebling, Finnoula Connor, and Barrabas I. Vanov. Becker and author Tim Sydenham serve as Current Fiction editors, with Selburg as Artist-in-Residence. Other regular contributors to the site are artist Gabriel Johnson (Illinois State University), and surrealist author Xavier Vagus. Neuroscience on the site is usually written in the style of creative nonfiction and for consumption by the non-scientist. Contributors in neuroscience have included freelance author Maggie Carmichael. Also featured on Book Backwards are illustrated novels and digital artwork. Book Backwards provides an e-reader creation service free of charge to interested authors, and neuroscience articles and web fiction are posted periodically, with a regular monthly 'This Month and the Brain' feature written by Koob to relate neuroscience to current cultural events.
