Boogenhaagen

BoogenHaagen (pronounced Boo-gun-Har-gun) are a metro punk band from Harrogate, England.
Formed in Kennel Hall farm in North Yorkshire, this rock quartet have been blitzing the British music scene since 2008. The band was co-founded by lead singer/song writer Darren Murthick, lead guitarist Adam Lightfoot, bass guitarist Paul Drinkwater and drummer Neil Wilson. BoogenHaagen derives its name from The Omen films, specifically Omen II, wherein Carl Bugenhagen, an archaeologist shows a friend the ruin of Yigael's wall depicting the Antichrist as that of the face of Damien. Both Murthick and Drinkwater pitched the name to the band and thus BoogenHaagen was born. The spelling was changed to avoid confusion with the film itself.
Early Releases
The band's early releases consist of fast tempos, sharp riffs and aggressive musicianship making them a metal machine worthy of their pure rock status.
Although only having released their first EP in 2010, there songs, including Time Bomb, Logger Heads and Death By Nature have created a huge following across the rock community even so far as to warrant interest from Radio York and a Metallica representative.
BoogenHaagen's first single 'Timebomb' proved to be an epic among their growing fans and its fame was closely followed by triumphant receptions to Loggerheads and This or Die, Subsequently the name of the bands first EP.
Achievements
BoogenHaagen have already achieved success in UK music competitions, most notably the Surface Unsigned festival coming 17th out of 12000 bands in the north of the UK alone. After playing in venue's in Newcastle and the infamous Manchester Academy 3, they narrowly missed out in the finals at the O2 Arena in London. In addition the band hit highs of 11 in the Reverbnation metal charts and rumour has it that a UK tour may be in the works for 2011. Inspiration
Drawing on inspiration from numerous bands including Billy Talent, Enter Shikari, Korn, Slipknot, Metallica and Iron Maiden, BoogenHaagen have developed a unique and remarkable style of music and will continue to take the rock world by force.
