Reception In an article about "Concrete Waves" Split LP, interpunk.com said:
This is the perfect punk rock soundtrack for skating the Concrete Waves! Produced by skateboard legend DUANE PETERS, who helped forge the bond between skate and punk music. This album presents brand new studio recordings by 3 cool punk bands: - JFA: From their beginnings in the desert wastelands of Phoenix, Arizona, the band pioneered a sound that would come to be known around the globe as "skate rock". Their songs are hard, fast and loud. In 1990, singer Brian Brannon went to work for the skater's bible, Thrasher Magazine, in San Francisco as music editor before relocating in 1997 to the band's new home of Huntington Beach, CA. These five new songs capture the passion and intensity of this old school punk rock band and prove that they have not gone soft after all these years. - BLUE COLLAR SPECIAL: Spawned in the San Fernando Valley in sunny California, BLUE COLLAR SPECIAL is quite possibly the best band you've never heard (one of their earlier songs appears on Old Skars & Upstarts 2001 release - check it out). No-bullshit punk rock and roll from start to finish, they give you that warm fuzzy feeling - like being drunk without the bad breath and coyote dates. - THE WORTHLESS: All in their late teens and born and raised in the streets of San Diego, THE WORTHLESS deliver old school punk rock all the way. The fact that the singer happens to be DUANE PETERS' nephew is maybe the reason why their sound is so real and raw. THE WORTHLESS have already released one 7" and a full album on Taang Records. They are also on Old Skars & Upstarts 2002.
