Blood of the Black Owl

Blood of the Black Owl is a one man band from the Pacific Northwest of the United States, and has been described as "primitive slow tempo woodland ritualistic Doom Metal". The music is characterized by containing a combination of solemn ambiance fused with Native Ritual and Northern European shamanic offerings. The result, particularly on 'A Feral Spirit', is the resultant 71 minute ode to the "Spirits of Nature and the unspoken bonds that tie man, beast and environment"
History
Origins
Within a world of other musical endeavors, Blood of the Black Owl is one of two primary solo musical offerings from Chet W. Scott; it was formed in 2004, although the debut self titled album was largely written in 1995 and was previously known as Svart Ugle (from the Norwegian, meaning "Black Owl"). This is Chet W. Scott's solo project and is not a band. He composes, performs, records and produces all instrumentation, although there have been intermittent but significant contributions from James Woodhead and Daniel Ellis Smith Harrod. His music has been highly praised by the music press for its original style and deeply spiritual experimentation, particularly the third studio album, A Banishing Ritual, released in 2010.
Career (1995-present)
Blood of the Black Owl has currently released three full-length albums, "Blood of the Black Owl" (debut, 2006), "A Feral Spirit" (2008), "A Banishing Ritual (Into White)" (2010), and the forth coming "Light the Fires!" (2012). Chet has also released two exclusive split releases under the Blood of the Black Owl banner with Celestiial in 2008 and At the Head of the Woods in 2011.
