Bithlo High School is located in Bithlo, FL, just off State Route 50, east of Orlando. Home of the Dolphins, BHS is attended by 2,800 students from neighboring cities, such as Azalea Park, FL and Christmas, FL.
The Campus The campus encompases 123 acres, including baseball and American football stadiums, a nine-hole golf course maintained by the agriculture department, and 5 two-story classroom buildings. The cafeteria is about and serves not only hot meals and salad bar, but also buys meals from local Pizza Hut and Quizno's locations. The James P. Dean auditorium seats 900 people.
Hurricane Charley left many tree uprooted and windows broken, but no serious structural damage.
Athletics The school has a number of sports teams, and has been a prominent athletic school. The Dolphins are traditionally strong in soccer and swimming.
BHS is a member of the Orlando Metro Conference, and participates among the largest classes of the FHSAA state athletic competitions. Recently, the school's most successful teams have included boys' football, girls' basketball, boys' baseball, boys' and girls' cross-country, boys' bowling, boys' golf, girls' softball, girls' tennis, and boy's and girls' water polo.

Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Core The school's NJROTC unit which was formed in 1980 has been a distinguished unit for the past 10 years. The current Commanding Officer is Michael Smith, Executive Officer is Nick Bossaak, Command Master Chief is Anton Bella ,Operations Officer is Ryn Thomas, Supply is Ryan Cordlie, Logistics is Robert Jaes and the Public Affairs officer is Yadira Trviso. The unit has been to the NJROTC state finals for the past 4 years and currently participates is community service, Drill Competitions and Color Guards.
Band The Bithlo High School Dolphin Band & Guard have a reputation of being one of the best band programs in the state. The Top Bands (Wind Ensemble, Jazz 1) have a history of receiving straight superior ratings at the District and State level MPA(Music Performance Assessment). It is also known for its marching band program. Some of the more recent marching band shows include Channel One Suite(2003), Othello(2004), One City Block(2005), and There And Back Again(2006).
Under the direction of Pat Culler, the marching band was highly successful, traveling around the nation to perform. The group participated in the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in Washington, D.C., performed in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City (1995), and traveled to Los Angeles, CA to particpate in the Tournament of Roses Parade (1998). In the mid to late 1990s, the marching band was one of the largest in the Central Florida region. The membership was near 350 students; approximately 10% of the total UHS population at the time.
