Betty Na Mas Pangit

Betty Na Mas Pangit ("The Uglier Betty") is an upcoming Philippine series being produced by ABS-CBN. It is an adaptation of the Colombian telenovela Yo soy Betty, la fea ("I am Betty, the ugly one"), also simply known as "Betty la fea" ("Ugly Betty") written by Fernando Gaitán (also author of Café, con aroma de mujer). Interestingly, this local version (the first of its kind to have a Southeast Asian setting) will mark the fourth series based on the Colombian telenovela that has aired in the Philippines, following the original version, "Las Fea Mas Bella," and "Ugly Betty." It also plans to incorporate several elements from the various versions into this version as well. Casting Regine Velasquez was originally offered by ABS-CBN to do her role as Betty according to rumors. But after Velasquez decided to stay with rival GMA-7, there are actresses who had the possibility to play Betty: Angel Locsin,Bea Alonzo, and Valerie Concepcion. Toni Gonzaga is finally the chosen one to play the lead role as the ugly and fat,but kind-hearted girl,and her leadingman was Sam Milby. Director This remake is directed by Wenn Deramas, who had previously directed Kokey, Walang Kapalit, , Kampanerang Kuba and Marina.
