Ben Seton

Ben Seton (Born Benjamin Michael Kenneth Seton, October 14th, 1978) is an Australian actor based in Los Angeles.
Early Life
Born in Sydney, Seton was raised on a South Western NSW property near Wombeyan Caves in a rugged environment without electricity or luxuries. He is the third of four brothers. The eldest Xavier Seton runs a Sydney Christmas tree company. Alex Seton is a successful Australian sculptor in marble with artworks in prestigious art collections including the Royal Danish Collection and Paul Seton is an industrial designer and entrepreneur. His parents moved the family back to the suburbs of Sydney where he attended Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview and developed his passion for acting and martial arts.
Stage Career
Competing in international martial arts tournaments from a young age, he became South Pacific Chung Do Kwan Champion in 1995 (lightweight division) and during that same year also won the Australian Young Shakespearean Artist of the Year Award.
These two diverse passions caused Seton to devise, in collaboration with mentor Melvyn Morrow, a unique one-man cabaret show called Tae Kwon Shakespeare
, which was a blend of Shakespearean monologues combined with the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon Do. Debuting at the Shakespeare on the Mount festival in Thredbo in 1998 and again in 2001, the show toured for seven years until 2005 and was performed in Australia as well as Japan, Korea, Canada and the United States. From 2001 to 2006, he also toured educational theatre shows for Brainstorm Productions to schools throughout Australia including such productions as Sticks & Stones, Reckless, Buddies, Hurting Game, Bravehearts, Saving Cal & Mindi, Wired and Cheap Thrills.
Film and Television
Seton appeared in the lead role of Joel alongside Lara Cox in the Australian film drama The Dinner Party which was nominated for best debut feature at the 2009 Raindance Film Festival. He also starred as Jarron Brenner in the 2008 futuristic thriller The Vanquisher.
Seton’s television debut was on the Nine Network’s police drama Water Rats in 1998, followed by a guest appearance playing the role of Bahktiar in the Canadian fantasy series BeastMaster in 2000 and as Callum in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World in 2002. In 2007 he stared as the lead in two short films premiered in two episodes of Steven Spielberg's and FOX Network's On The Lot. One of these films, "Teri", was judged by industry renowned directors and actors including Michael Bay, Carrie Fisher and Garry Marshall, who commented that "..the lead (Ben Seton) was excellent in this!".
