Beginners (1982 film)

Beginners is a 1982 American film that was abandoned during filming.
Production
The film was written by Irving Ravetch and Harriet Frank Jr., produced by Peter Fetterman, and directed by Michael Gottlieb. It was the first film from Embassy Pictures since that company had been taken over by Norman Lear and Jerry Perenchio.
Keith Gordon was to star but dropped out shortly before filming and was replaced by Robert Carradine. Filming started in New York on July 6. Michael Gottlieb left the project nine days into a seven-week schedule and filming was suspended on July 16, 1982. There were reports the film would start up again in October but in August Embassy Pictures cancelled it. According to Barbara Brogliatti, vice president of publicity at Embassy, "We realized we had the wrong director and the wrong script and just stopped."
