Beata Nowok

Beata Nowok is a statistician and researcher. Her research interests are quantitative methods in demography and analysis of migration behaviour.
Early life and education
Beata Nowok was born in 1978 in Cieszyn, Poland and attended the Warsaw School of Economics, Poland from 1997-2002 where she was awarded an MSc in Quantitative Methods and Information Systems and in 2006 gained a PhD in Demography at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. between LSCS and UCL on Synthetic Data Estimation for UK Longitudinal Studies known as the SYLLS project.
Previously, she has researched at both the ESRC Centre for Population Change (CPC) and the Central European Forum for Migration and Population Research (CEFMR). Nowok is still currently a CEFMR Associate Member.
Nowok co-authored a tool for producing synthetic versions of microdata replacing sensitive confidential information called 'synthpop'.
She sits on the Editorial Committee of the Studia Demograficzne (Demographic Studies) Journal published since 2019. The journal provides space for scientific debate on a wide range of population issues and operates as a sharing platform for research results with a broad audience
