Battleton

Battleton
Battleton is a new, revolutionary sport that is a combination of Badminton and Basketball where individuals (at least 3, up to 6) attempt to hit the shuttle cock through the basketball hoop. Contact between the players is allowed but at no time is there allowed to be contact between racquet and players. (I.e. players are allowed to hold each other off or disturb the swing of the opponent, but only by the player grabbing the arm or body of the opponent, not by hitting with the racquet)
Creation of Battleton.
Battleton was invented on the 16th of November 2009 at Esher College in Thames Ditton by a group of 6.1 (16 and 17 year olds) during a lunchtime sport session. Namely, Ollie Clark, Rob Pettigrew, Joe Bateson and Tom Edney. Others soon followed, and in less than 20 minutes the game was the talk of litterally some people.
Since then each monday lunchtime these people have played consistently with the latest game being won by Rob Pettigrew, 8-5-3-0-0.
The Future for Battleton
As with the playground game Patball the thought of going to a larger scale with battleton is appealing, however because of the very obscure and vague ruling system it is also not likely to catch on, but it can still be enjoyed by many.
