Battlefield Play4Free is the latest Battlefield and latest Play4Free offering from Digital Illusions CE, slated for a Spring 2011 release for PC. Intended to follow-up Battlefield Heroes in the company's Play4Free series, Battlefield Play4Free will feature the same free-to-play pricing structure, while creating a more serious entry in the series (as opposed to Heroes' cartoon-styled, lighthearted environment). It is essentially a remake of Battlefield 2, importing some new assets (such as weapons and class-leveling) from the newer Battlefield: Bad Company series while using refined versions of the maps and vehicles from Battlefield 2.
