Barra Best (b. 1982, Belfast, Northern Ireland) is a broadcast journalist with BBC Northern Ireland. He currently works as a journalist for BBC Newsline. Broadcasting career Barra began his broadcast journalism career at Belfast CityBeat. He presented the hourly news bulletins and reported on from around Northern Ireland. Best joined the BBC in 2007. He has reported for BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Newsline. Best has also presented radio and television news bulletins. In addition, Barra has also written news articles for BBC News Online. Barra is also a member of the weather team at BBC Northern Ireland where he has presented the weather forecasts on BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Newsline. Personal life Best studied at Edge Hill University, and went on to study for a Postgraduate diploma in Broadcast journalism at the department of Journalism, Media and Communication, University of Central Lancashire. In March 2013 Barra received the Belfast Ambassador Award as part of Belfast Media Group's Top 40 Under 40 awards.
