Aurora Helicopters Ltd. is a privately-owned Canadian aviation company that provides helicopter charter services throughout remote and populated areas of Canada. Aurora Helicopters Ltd. conducts business under the registered trade name of Wood Buffalo Helicopters, to coordinate with its primary region of operations, the Wood Buffalo National Park and its surrounding areas. Aurora Helicopters Ltd. operates four different types of helicopters, which are all certified and equipped for a variety of visual flight rules (VFR) aerial work and charter operations including tourism, aerial photography, fire suppression, wildfire operations, oil and gas field operations and passenger transport. Aurora Helicopters Ltd. has hangar or base operations facilities across Canada including Fort McMurray, AB, Peace River, AB, Lac La Biche, AB, and most recently Oliver, BC.
