Augmented reality links

Augmented Reality Links, or ARL, is an image recognition technology that enables a phone or mobile device equipped with a camera to recognize real world artifacts - primarily 2D images - and subsequently trigger the delivery of digital content. Its primary use is the recognition of corporate logos which enable users to connect to online information such as promotional materials for the company or product. In a typical ARL experience, the user points the camera of the device at a corporate logo that has an account with an ARL provider, and captures the image. The ARL application then connects the user withthe content that the logo's subscriber has chosen to provide. Example content includes, but is not limited to web-sites, videos, music, games, ring tones, coupons, directions to the nearest store location, or the link could initiate a call to customer service or a ticketing agent. ARL is a form of Mobile Augmented Reality; other forms include Voice Reality Links, (VRL) and Geo-Reality Links, (GRL.)
