Atos Medical is an ear-nose-throat medical device company based in Sweden. It was founded in 1986 by brothers Gert and Jan-Ove Persson in Hörby in the south of Sweden, focusing on silicone products for the healthcare industry. Atos Medical started developing and producing voice prostheses for laryngectomized persons in 1987. This led to the launch of Provox, their first generation voice prosthesis, in 1990. Today, the company has a range of laryngectomy and tracheostomy products, as well as otology, rhinology and orofacial products in their portfolio. Geography All production, R&D and marketing is based in Hörby, Sweden. Atos Medical has sales offices in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and Hong Kong. Atos Medical’s products are also sold by some 50 distributors worldwide. Products Atos Medical is best known for their Provox brand of laryngectomy products. The Provox system features products such as voice prostheses, Heat and moisture exchangers (HME), base plate adhesives, accessories for maintenance, and surgical tools. Other important Atos Medical products are the TheraBite Jaw Motion Rehabilitation System and the FreeVent tracheostomy assortment. See Also
