Athcast is considered the World's first rockumentary podcast series. Athcastproduces programming from live concerts in Athens, Georgia. Athcast is produced by the Athens Music Foundation, Inc. 501(c)3 non-profit organization, which was founded on October 31, 2006 by Brinkley Warren and Mike Ewing. Athcast distributes programming primarily through the iTunes Music Store, and Athcast.com. Episodes consist of professional concert recordings, photos from the concert, links, and behind the scenes interviews with the band and fans. Athcast programming is distributed free of charge via download and online podcast subscription. Currently, Athcast has over 100,000 subscribers from 27 countries around the world. Episodes include artists such as Bob Weir, My Morning Jacket, and Umphrey's McGee.
