Astrotheology

Astrotheology is theology founded on observation or knowledge of the celestial bodies. It is a controversial subject as a basis for how stories about the sun, moon, planets and stars evolved into religious beliefs. It is a study of how our ancestors revered such celestial bodies as gods and deities.

In film

In the movie Zeitgeist, the comparison of paganism and astrology is made with the astrotheologic evolution of stories to Christianity. From its narration,
:"The Bible is nothing more than an astro-theological literary fold hybrid, just like nearly all religious myths before it."

From the transcript of the movie, there are several sources that study how the metaphoric perception of astrological bodies are compared to religious deities.
