AssaultCube Reloaded is a free multiplayer first-person shooter game, based on AssaultCube, which is based on the Cube 1 engine. It takes place in realistic environments, with fast, arcade gameplay. The main focus of AssaultCube is multiplayer online gaming; however, computer-controlled bots are being developed for multiplayer. AssaultCube Reloaded is available free of charge to download for its source (any OS), Microsoft Windows 2000 to Windows 7 and Linux i686 and x64_86. Binaries for Mac OS X are currently unavailable. The game engine and code are free software, however parts of the accompanying game media, such as the graphics, are released under non-free licenses. Gameplay AssaultCube Reloaded was designed to be even more realistic and fast-paced than AssaultCube, which was designed to be more realistic and team-oriented than Cube while keeping Cubes distinctive fast-paced gameplay. There are two teams in AssaultCube Reloaded, RED, BLUE, and a pseudo-team SPECT. AssaultCube Reloaded and AssaultCube both retain a movement bug from the original Cube engine that allows players to utilize straferunning to move at a faster speed. This was left intentionally unfixed by the developers because it was considered an enjoyable feature of Cube. AssaultCube Reloadeds weapons fill the basic niches of a modern first-person shooter. AssaultCube Reloaded has six gamemodes excluding the demo playback and coopedit: # Deathmatch # Capture the Flag # Hunt the Flag (also known as VIP) # Keep the Flag # Bomber (reverse of Capture the Flag) # Zombies (humans vs AI)
