Ashneer Grover

Ashneer Grover is the co-founder and managing director of BharatPe. He was born in Delhi, India, on 14 June 1982.
Grover with Shashwat Nakrani started the payment application BharatPe in 2018.
He is currently one of the judges of Shark Tank India.
Early life and education
Grover was born in Delhi, India in a Punjabi Hindu family. His grandfather migrated from Pakistan during 1947 partition. He has a BTech degree in Civil engineering from IIT Delhi and later did MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. During his graduation days, he was also selected as an exchange student for INSA Lyon and went to the University of INSA-Lyon, France, during 2002-2003 for the program.
Career
He was selected as vice president for Kotak Finance Banking through campus placements from IIM. He has been a part of Kotak for almost seven years since 2006. In 2013, Ashneer joined American Express (AmEx), a payment card services company, and worked for two years there. He left American express in 2015 and became CFO of Grofers (now known as Blinkit). Later in 2017, Grover was appointed as the Head of New Business in PC Jeweller, where he worked for a year. Then by 2018, he established his own company BharatPe.
In January 2022, an audio clip surfaced on social media where Grover, with his wife, is purportedly speaking to what appears to be a relationship manager from Kotak Mahindra Bank. The couple had accused the Kotak Mahindra Bank of failing to secure finance and allocation of shares in the initial public offering (IPO) of Nykaa. They had sought Rs 500 crore in damages. Grover claimed that it's a fake audio by “some scamster trying to extort funds (USD 2,40,000 bitcoins)” and added that he “refused to buckle.”

Ashneer is married to Madhuri Jain, they met in Career Launcher, Delhi..
