Ashley Gosiengfiao

Ashley Arraiza Gosiengfiao (born December 13, 1989 in Quezon City, Philippines) is a Filipina cosplayer model, artist. She is the younger sister of the Philippine Cosplayer Queen Alodia Gosiengfiao.
Early life
She had been a dancer and athlete during her younger years. She spent five years dancing ballet in grade school, and then 5 years beginning from 7th grade all the way through her four years in high school playing volleyball as a varsity player and competing for her school Miriam College through which she has garnered a fair number of medals. Ashley is also a musician. She spent a few years taking up voice lessons when she was little. She took up piano lessons for a year when she was 7, however the guitar proved to be her passion which she discovered and learned on her own at the age of 13. As she entered high school, she formed a number of bands with her friends and schoolmates. One of her former bands, The Bestidas, had won first place awards from different battle of the bands events such as Schoolture Shock, Urband Battle, and Summer Scream Showdown, all in 2007. Also, her present band Hymn of Siren was one of the 13 finalists out of the 300 that auditioned during the Nescafe Soundskool 2007 Battle of The Best College Bands, a nationwide competition. The said band now goes by the name of Yes Ma’am. Aside from being in bands, Ashley also writes and records her own songs.
Cosplaying
Ashley started cosplaying at the age of 13 by joining various competitions in the Philippines specifically in Manila. She wowed the crowds at the 2003 C3 Convention portraying as Magic Gunner Yuna from Final Fantasy X-2 along with her elder sister Alodia who cosplayed as Magic Gunner Rikku. The sisters’ 3rd place & Crowd Favorite awards led them to be featured on the cover of Issue 14 of Culture Crash, a manga magazine.
She took a break from cosplaying sometime in high school when she chose to concentrate on volleyball and music. But as she graduated and entered college in the Ateneo de Manila University, she decided to get back into it. She is currently on her fourth and final year, taking up a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Information Design.
As finalists/representatives of the Philippines for the Anime Festival Asia Regional Cosplay Championship 2009, Ashley with her sister Alodia cosplayed as Shiori Tsuzuki and Amaha Masane from the Witchblade anime in November 2009 in Suntec, Singapore. Again they won the hearts of the Singaporeans with their elaborate costumes and exciting acrobatic fight scene. The competition judge Kaname, a popular Japanese cosplayer, gave them perfect scores across the board.
Ashley became one of the official models/endorsers of IPVG-EGames Zhu Xian Online game, as well as SEGA’s Love and Berry. She had also made it to the back cover of the cosplay photobook, Otacool2: Worldwide Cosplayers published in April 2010.

Ashley, along with her sister Alodia, was invited by the Mascot Parade supported by the Singapore Government to perform and judge the event’s cosplay competition. This led to numerous projects offered by different event organizers from different countries such as Chile, Italy, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, etc - to bring in the sisters to judge and perform during cosplay conventions in the organizers’ respective countries.
Cosplaying more or less gave life to her passion for photography. She started out as a hobbyist at the age of 17 when she got her first point-and-shoot camera, and then started to go professional at 19, taking on even international clients at a young age.
Ashley has been featured in newspapers such as the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Philippine Star and Manila Times. She was also invited to appear as a guest on TV shows such as MogTV, Front Act, and Tek Tok TV. She appeared in Pedicab’s And Pusa Mo music video.
To this date, she has a following of almost 300,000 fans in Facebook and more than 400,000 pageviews in her Deviantart account in the internet. Due to her rising popularity, she has been endorsing about anything Japanese such as a trendy Japanese sushi bar called Robot. She also became one of the ambassadors/ TV host VJs for Animax Asia, which airs all over Asia.
At present, she is an official model/endorser for a ready-to-drink product and a clothing line. She also appears in the Shakey’s Monster Deal commercial, which started airing in January 2011.
