Art for Sale

Art for Sale, developed by Fried Games in 2008 is a tycoon type game that chaleges players become artist by creating and selling self created pictures.

Objective
In the game Art for Sale you are that aspiring artist who embarks on a career of creating and selling artworks. During the game you will try to increase your reputation by selling your artworks at better and better establishments while experimenting with different artistic media. You will also be confronted with the everyday troubles that artists face and will be able to compete in challenges for fame and fortune.

Creating Pictures

In the game Art for Sale there is imbedded graphic art software that the players uses to create drawings or paintings. An algorithm evaluates each painting and a price is determined for each picture. In the beginning, the player can access only a limited amount of equipment and places. As the player advance during the game he/she obtains more money and a better reputation and will be able to obtain more virtual paint equipment to create better artworks.

Growing as an artist

There are various galleries that the player can exhibit his/her artworks in. In addition there is also the option of competing in challenges during the game. The player is also faced with disasters (as is normal in simulation games) that are tailored to this theme.

Mixing colours

In the game there is an option to mix paint to obtain hues of colours. The primary colors used in the game is however not the same as those used (red, green and blue) when using real paint (red, yellow and blue). This is an interesting feature as simulation of light based colours (as in computer displays) is different from paint. The players of the game should thus be aware that, although educational in general, this may be misleading for real paint mixing.
