Arja Havakka

Arja Marianne Havakka (born October 3, 1944 in Lahti, Finland) is a Finnish schlager singer and bassist.
Life and career
Havakka was born in Lahti at 1944. Her mother died when Havakka was 7-years-old. The new home found her mother's sister from Imatra, where the family moved soon to Lappeenranta. There young Havakka went to Lappeenrannan kaupunginteatteri, where she worked an actress. The theather was very important to Havakka because it gave performing experience.
The singer-career began officially in 1967 when Havakka went to Tommi Lainkari's band because one of the band's members went to the United States. In the following decade Havakka started her singing career with her own band. In the 1995, Havakka recorded a Russian Lokki-waltz in Finnish, which made her a national favorite. She made three albums during years 1996-2002.
In 2012 Havakka celebrated her 45-year career in a charity concert in Keminmaa.
Arja Havakka has not a husband or children. She lives in Keminmaa, earlier in Rovaniemi.
