Apple Tree Railway

The Apple Tree Railway is an 8 mile long heritage railway that runs from Dudbrook to Wayworth-on-Sea. The line has recently completed a £56,000 project in extending the railway to Wayworth as before the railway only ran from Dudbrook to Churchdown halt (now closed). The Apple Tree railway is completely run by volunteers and is an all steam locomotive railway.

Future plans

The ATR are planning to extend again to Holme which will add an extra 4 miles to the line. The extension will also involve re opening two stations (one of which is a halt) and almost completely rebuilding a tunnel, and also re laying the track bed.

Another plan which has already started is to rebuild Dudbrook station and make a large locomotive yard that can accommodate more locomotives and [rolling stock. This is called Dudbrook makeover.
