Antonius Quodt

Antonius Quodt (* in Cologne) is a German lighting designer.
Life
At the beginning of his career, he often worked as a lightning man. He later worked for various companies in the areas lighting and design. In the middle of the 1990s, he founded the company LightLife in Cologne. There are subsidiaries in Vienna and Berlin. He holds degrees in various fields. He eventually became well-known and lighting designer. His fascination for light, for technics, his way of handling personal debates, facing social-critical questions privately and professionally were center of his attention. Since 2002, he teaches at Cologne's University for Applied Sciences. By events like Frankfurt's Luminale, Antonius Quodt got renowned where he often showed installations (Luminale takes place at the same time like Light&Building, the city of Frankfurt offering to members of the fair the chance to use the city as showroom).
LightLife
In 1996, Antonius Quodt founded the company LightLife. They reside in Cologne and mostly handle works in the area of lighting and design. LichtLife also offers to involve itself into the design process. There were cooperations with André Heller, José Jura and Mario Adorf. One of the many works of LightLife could be seen at the soccer championship in 2006: A globe, designed by André Heller, conceptualized and finished by LightLife. Antonius Quodt worked as lighting designer.
Other works include their works at Frankfurt stock exchange - trying to realize appropriate lighting design and technics. In Germany, there are many hundred design works.
At some point, LightLife started creating own concepts. Next to design, they also create lighting art.
