Anton Tanonov (; born 1977) is a Russian classical composer from Nizhny Novgorod and was a graduate of Saint Petersburg Conservatory. From 1999 to 2000 he was a director of the Itiro Khatoyama's School of Electronic Music. From 1996 to 2000 he was a member of Sound Ways and from November of the same year was a recordist at the Devyatiy Val. In 1997 he performed at the Byret Festival and by 2005 composed an opera called Khalyava which was based on Nikolai Gogol's work of the same name. It won him a bronze medal and was performed at the Mariinsky Theatre the same year. Later on in Autumn, Big Symphony Orchestra have awarded him with its prize. Currently he performs his composing works throughout Russia, Austria and Germany.
