Anti Ittna Haapapuro (also known as A. Haapapuro) is mostly famous as a Finnish ambient music composer and founder of the Finland based dark ambient label Aural Hypnox. His main project is Halo Manash, and he is also member of such groups as Dolorian, Aeoga and I.corax.
It was around 1993 when Anti Ittna installed few music production programs in his computer, including a primitive tracker and a simple sequencer, and made his first experiments. Before this, he already had some experience in guitars and on other traditional musical instruments. Nevertheless, after the first superficial experiments, he began to use normal tape recorders to record his material and subsequently Anti shifted to use 4-track tape recording unit — even though occasionally the sessions included also computer. Nowadays, he have a small home studio with some decent equipment — mixer, effect processors, compressors, different kind of amplifiers, various microphones and also some field recording equipment. At the moment, despite the boom of computer-only based studios, Anti prefer to use computer only for recording and mastering.
