Annunziata Rees-Mogg (born 25 March 1979) is a journalist and Conservative politician in the United Kingdom. Born in Bath, she is the youngest daughter of Lord Rees-Mogg, the former editor of The Times newspaper. Her career has included editing the European Journal, a stint as deputy editor of MoneyWeek, and currently she is a leader writer for The Daily Telegraph. During the 2005 election she was the Conservative candidate in the safe Labour seat of Aberavon in Wales. She increased the Conservative vote by a third, although still finished fourth in what is a heavily Labour supporting constituency. She was named on the Conservative Party "A-List" of candidates, and in late 2006 was selected as the candidate for the marginal constituency of Somerton and Frome ahead of the next general election. Her brother is the investment banker, Jacob Rees-Mogg, who is the Conservative candidate for North East Somerset which neighbours Somerton and Frome.
