Anna Rita Centura (born January 18,1959 in Orvieto, Italy) is an Italian artist specialised in contemporary realism. Early Life Anna Rita Centura was born in Orvieto, Italy on 18 January 1959 and she attend the Art Institute in Orvieto. After graduating, she worked as a decorator for local architects and, in 1997, for the US Embassy in Rome. Between 1990 and 2002, she worked as portraitist, graphic designer and as visualizer for advertising agencies. As illustrator, she produced in 2004 the cover album of Jimmy Bosch’s El Avion De La Salsa, and in 2018 the cover of eco-pop band Beisureis’s Soul of Salvation. Centura exhibited at the Florence Biennale in 2001. Since 2008 she started focusing on drawing and painting. Work In Orvieto, Centura permantly exhibits at Ars & Icon. Centura is best known for Pride (2016) and for Crowned Head and Winged Souls (2019). Her works are notable for their use of symbolism and complex composition, and have been exhibited in Italy, France, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and Netherlands. Her themes range from portraits, figurative art, wildlife art, and narrative scenes. Centura uses various media, but favours graphite, charcoal, oil and mixed media, on paper, canvas or wooden board.
