Anivarya Kumar (born March 8, 1999) is an American young-adult fiction author and novelist. She published Two Lives One Decision at age twelve on Amazon Kindle and Apple iBooks. In 2012, Kumar was interviewed for a local newspaper which was followed by a TV Broadcast interview with Fox 10 News Channel. She later judged a writing competition for more aspiring young authors as well as organized a book signing event along with other accomplished novelists. Kumar is currently working on her second book Destiny which is scheduled to be released by Fall of 2014 and is planning to feature a film in the near future. <big>Early Life</big> Anivarya Kumar was born in San Diego, California to Ajay Kumar and Geetika Kumar. Her early years were spent in San Diego when she was first inspired by Stephenie Meyer and J.K. Rowling, and she later moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she began writing her first novel at age ten. As a student in elementary school, Kumar began writing short stories as hobby and talent. In kindergarten, she was the youngest contestant and won 1st place in a district level writing competition. Aside from writing, she pursued in the field of music and today she plays three instruments - piano, flute, and guitar. Along with instrumental background, Kumar has a passion for dance including both contemporary and Bollywood styles. <big>Two Lives One Decision</big> Kumar says that her idea came after a full night of horror movies in 2010 at which point she extended a short story she wrote a couple years before. At age ten, she began typing up the novella and planning a plot for a young-adult mystery. After writing several drafts, the final product was a thriller encompassing bold concepts such as reincarnation and time travel. The book is about a young girl who is reborn and travels back in time to take revenge on what happened to her in her past life. After the release of Two Lives One Decision the newspaper’s journalist interviewed Kumar for the front cover on Ahwatukee Foothills News. The article was followed by a live TV interview with . She later was invited at a local bookstore for a book signing where she also judged a writing competition for middle and high school students. <big>Destiny</big> Kumar explains that her second novel is a combination of both parallel universes and romantic drama. It is a young-adult fiction in which two teenagers are destined to fall in love and separate due to the forces from the parallel universes. The two star-crossed lovers who haven’t ever seen each other except for as an illusion are taken through a journey where their connection from birth draws them together while the Other Side battles to draw them apart.
