Anima Animus Animal

Anima Animus Animal are an American/English collaboration between New York opera singer and multi-media artist, Alexis Karl and Manchester pianist and synthesizer player, Paul Ashton. The music on the first album "Be Deathless" (2010) on the Affinity label is gothic and classical in structure. The genre is Electro-Gothic-Opera.
Paul Ashton was notably featured in the retrospective exhibition Quiffs Riffs and Tiffs at Salford Life Times Museum.
Performances incorporate narration, modern dance and other theatrical displays such as fire-eating, trapeze and film with the music.
Anima Animus Animal's video Emshab J'ai Change was created by Christopher Marston the co-director of the Progressive Rock web series, Gemini Rising. Design for the "Be Deathless" CD was created by Jorge Colombo who created a number of covers for The New Yorker including the 1st cover created on an iPhone.
Performances in England include Salford Music Festival at the Ritz and "Other Side Of Silence" concert at Sacred Trinity Church along with dancer/choreographer, Peter Grist.
performances in New York City include the Satanic Circus at Union Pool in Brooklyn along with Hard Rock band, Growler, and Trash Rockband, Jeff The Brotherhood, as well as "Night Stalker, an Electro- Gothc Opera" Performed at NP Contemporary Art Center in Manhattan.
