Father Andrew Kemberling is an American Roman Catholic priest in the Archdiocese of Denver and the pastor of the Saint Thomas More Catholic Church in Centennial, Colorado. Born in Tucson, Arizona he was ordained in the Benedictine Order in 1988. His assignments have included Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Boulder, Colorado, Holy Cross Abbey in Cañon City, Colorado and Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Grand Junction, Colorado. He began his present pastoral assignment in 2000. In a New York Times article about the Catholic Church's opposition to Senator John Kerry, the 2004 Democratic Party presidential nominee, Father Kemberling said, "We are not telling them how to vote. We are telling them how to take Communion in good conscience." On 14 April, 2012, Father Andrew gave an invocation at Colorado Republican State Assembly in which he pointed out that at the core of American politics was a Biblical understanding of marriage. He further explained that political divisions in the United States were not between Republicans and Democrats but between Democracy and Socialism. He theorized that Catholics had a special pass to discuss Socialism as Catholics have been killed by Socialists over the past two centuries. Although Father Andrew is getting a lot of attention lately because of his invocation at the Colorado GOP State Assembly and Convention, he is more known in the Catholic Church setting because of his practice of stewardship as a way of life. He is a sought-after speaker on stewardship not only locally, but also nationally and internationally. Along with Mila Glodava, a native Filipino and St. Thomas More's director of communications and stewardship, Father Andrew has been instrumental in promoting stewardship as a way of life in the Filipino Church since 2003. Under his leadership, St. Thomas More is recognized as a model of parish stewardship, receiving numerous awards, including the Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy Award (2007) from the International Catholic Stewardship Council, for outstanding work in promoting stewardship as a way of life.
