Andreas Dracopoulos

Andreas C. Dracopoulos is co-president of the , a private, international grantmaking foundation. He is the great nephew of Stavros Niarchos, who provided for the establishment of the Foundation upon his death in 1996.
Biography
Born and raised in Athens, Greece, Dracopoulos lives in New York City.
An alumnus of Athens College, he graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with Bachelor of Science degree in economics. Simon Fraser University awarded Dracopoulos an honorary Doctor of Laws degree in June 2021.
Dracopoulos is a trustee of The Rockefeller University, Johns Hopkins University, and the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and is an honorary trustee of the . He has previously served on the boards of NYPL,  the Peterson Institute for International Economics, and The Dalton School.
Recognition
Dracopoulos has received the Grand Cross of the Order of Honor and the rank of Grand Commander of the Order of the Phoenix in Greece as well as the rank of the Officer of the Legion of Honor in France.
He has received the ’s highest civilian honor in being made an Honorary Battalion Chief, and has also been invested as an Archon Grand Orator by Bartholomew I of Constantinople.
In addition to being named a Living Landmark by the New York Landmarks Conservancy in 2022, Dracopoulos received awards over the preceding decade from organizations like the New York Stem Cell Foundation,  the Child Mind Institute (CMI), the FDNY Foundation, the Hellenic American Chamber of Commerce, The National Herald, and NYPL.
