Andi Ali

Andi Ali (born 30 October 1967) is a British Author best known for his number one best selling autobiography, Dead Paki Walking: A Study of the BNP.
He is also the author of the Inspector McGowan Murder Mysteries - a series of murders that take place in and around the Lancashire town of Ormskirk were he grew up. His first Inspector McGowan Murder Mystery, Death of a Lesbian Nun also reached the best seller list.
The book generated criticism when it was first published for it’s brief sexual description between a murdered Nun and young teenaged suspect, the relationship between a Lady of the Manor and her daughter’s seventeen year old boyfriend, and the boyfriend Flirtatious behaviour towards Inspector McGowan.
The novel is part of the exploration of alternative 19th century history, whose central plot point is that Adolph Hitler had a secret Jewish daughter when he was an art student in Liverpool in the summer of 1910, ideas derived from Ali’s academic research on British far right groups and links to Ormskirk. Ali has admitted that the character Inspector McGowan is based on Diane McGowan, a Senior Manger who was based at the Tax Credit Office were he worked, and who has stated was one of the best Managers within Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs. The story is set in and around Dark Lane Ormskirk were Ali grew up.
