Ana Sofia Reboleira

Ana Sofia Reboleira (October 6, 1980) is a Portuguese biologist and speleologist, (graduated in Universidade de Aveiro). She has a Ph.D. in Biology, a Master in Ecology, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Management and a Biology Degree. Specialist in Subterranean Biology, she has studied cave animals of Portugal, Spain and Western Caucasus, publishing several scientific articles. Reboleira's publications are mainly in the field of Subterranean Biology and Entomology, dealing with arthropod diversity and ecology in caves and other subterranean habitats. She has named several new species for science. Sofia Reboleira has organized and participated in several speleological expeditions, including to world's deepest cave Krubera-Voronja, where she and her team discovered world's deepest subterranean community of invertebrates and the deepest terrestrial animal, Plutomurus ortobalaganensis. She collaborates with diverse international scientific researchers and is a member of the council of the International Society for Subterranean Biology. See Also
