AmEuropa

AmEuropa is an economic and political transatlantic alliance with a common market proposed by Kent M. Chater as well as a series of fiction and nonfiction books written by Kent M. Chater.

The following is an excerpt taken from Kent M. Chater’s nonfiction book, AmEuropa: The Future of the West and The Next Superpower, briefly describing AmEuropa:

“AmEuropa, short for the Alliance of AmEuropa, shall be an alliance supporting the solidarity of the nations of the Atlantic alliance (NATO) as well as the nations of North America and Europe. AmEuropa shall be a deeper forging of the Atlantic alliance not only to give it a renewed sense of purpose but also to give its citizens something that would benefit them directly through the establishment of the AmEuropean Greater Common Market and the AmEuropean Area of Freedom.
AmEuropa shall be a transatlantic alliance. As such, its government shall be supranational and multinational; its people, multinational and multiracial; its cultural and technological tradition, Western; and its citizenship, AmEuropean. AmEuropean citizenship shall not replace but complement an individual’s national citizenship.
AmEuropa shall allow the free movement of goods, capital, services, and citizens (those holding citizenship of an Alliance member country regardless of race, creed, color, sexual orientation, or class) among member countries between North America and Europe. Hence, AmEuropa shall be an alliance with a greater common market and an area of freedom….
Specifically, AmEuropa shall be an alliance of the United States of America, Canada, and the European Union. Hence, AmEuropa would consist of the United States of America, Canada, plus twenty-five of the twenty-seven member states of the EU, equaling twenty-seven member countries….
Each member country of AmEuropa shall be free to retain border controls wherever desired. The Alliance of AmEuropa, bearing the classification of an “alliance” and not a “union,” shall permit the continuance of border controls between member countries desiring such, in particular between Canada and the United States and between North America and Europe as an important deterrent and hindrance to terrorism.
Politically, AmEuropa, as a transatlantic alliance, shall be the middle road between a world divided into separate governing nations and a world united under one supreme government. Each member nation shall be free to develop its own concept of state and government. Economically, AmEuropa with its Greater Common Market and Area of Freedom shall offer AmEuropeans a freedom of choice: the freedom to choose between the American, Canadian or European way of life in any member country that best embodies the individual’s desired concept of state and government. AmEuropeans shall be free to choose the AmEuropean social, state and governmental system as well as the national and regional culture that best fit their character and lifestyle….
The purpose of AmEuropa shall be to advance peace, create unity, increase prosperity, security, and stability as well as to extend individual liberty and personal freedom.”
