American International Health Alliance

The American International Health Alliance (AIHA) is an international nonprofit organization that was established by the leading health organizations in the United State . The organization is operating under the "cooperative agreement with the Agency for International Development". The purpose of the organization is to advance the global health by strengthening local health systems and creating human resources for health purposes.
In 1994, AIHA started "inter-partnership task" for the training and administration of Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Their programs are based on relationship among providers of healthcare system, who aim to find solutions to the problems of the host country in their health delivery systems. American emergency medicine doctors are funded to visit Ethiopian hospitals to train staff and share knowledge. It funds a pharmacy training program at Howard University to improve pharmacy education in Ethiopia.
It has arranged remote mentoring of clinical associates in South Africa by physician assistants in the USA.
It established the Twinning for Health Support Initiative, in Nigeria in 2014, as part of an effort to improve the quality of community-level social workers.
Five key pillars of AIHA
There are five key pillars of AIHA that embodies its work: "introducing new models of care and services; mobilizing communities for change; building sustainable capacity among healthcare practitioners; furthering the development of health-related professions; expanding knowledge through effective dissemination of successful programs".
Goals
