History
In 2003 guitarist, vocalist, and song writter Derek Leadbetter, bassist Steven Lewis, and drumer Brian Force members of local punk band former Store Bought Insanity ended their partnership with bassist Pat Fleming in order to start a third wave ska band under no name. At this point the band recruited trumpet player Andrew "Tucch" Fantucchio, and alto saxophone, soprano saxophone, and baritone saxophone player Nicole Cunningham from the Whitman-Hanson Regional High School band. After a few practices the band was called Alto-Sound Fiasco due to a series of mishaps. When asked about the name in a Boston Globe interview, Cunningham responded by saying, "Because every member of the band has somehow done damage to my instrument" . Around this time the band recorded their first demo, "Everytime an Instrument Breaks, an Angel Gets It's Wings" featuring five songs including the bands longest living track "End Up Dead" which would make the cut on each of the bands releases.
In 2005 the band continued to play small venues in their region and in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire at venues such as , Harpers Ferry, Jarrod's Place, The Sad Cafe, and The Middle East Upstairs. Their February, 19, 2005 performance at The Sad Cafe in Plaistow, New Hampshire was recorded and sold by the band as "Alto-Sound Fiasco Live at The Sad Cafe" In July of 2005, the band went on their literally named "Alto First Tour Fiasco" travelling through CT, NY, MA, NH, and ME.
