ALLEN Career Institute Pvt. Ltd is a Kota centered coaching company. It's a family business run by Maheshwari brothers but the company was started by Rajesh Maheshwari in 1988.
Competition
Allen competes with it's offline counter parts like Bansal Classes started by late Vinod Kumar Bansal. Resonance, Vibrant and similar institutes. With the emergence of online ed-tech companies that are entering the competition coaching market, Allen also competes with the likes of Byju's, Unacademy that has created a strong rivalry. In 2022, Unacademy opened an offline center in Kota and poached 30-40 faculty members of Allen. A video later surfaced where Allen's leadership member warned faculty members to leave Allen.This rivalry, however, has surfaced in past as well when Unacademy sponsored Kota Factory criticized the fictionalized Allen Coaching (known as Maheshwari classes in the netflix series). Allen's competition with other offline and online players has also remain a part of many controversies when Allen was found to be claiming the all India rank holders with other institutes like FIIT JEE and 's.
Funding and IPO
In 2020, Allen was reported to be working with venture capitalists to raise funds. Later in 2022, a funding of $600 million was given by Bodhi Tree.
Court Cases
Allen was asked to make a refund a student fee by the Chandigarh court with a fine when a case was filed by a resident of the city. Also, when Allen's copyrighted materials were being circulated on Telegram, Allen approached the court and was relieved by ordering the messenger app to get rid of those materials.
