Alix Capper-Murdoch is a motorsport commentator, television presenter and DJ originally from Aberdeen, Scotland. Early career At the age of 16, Alix joined the Royal Air Force as a driver in the MT Squadron. After four years serving in the armed forces she returned to Scotland to study media and broadcasting at Aberdeen College. While at college she began to DJ in local clubs and became one of the top female DJ's in the region. After completing an HNC, Alix landed a job at Northsound Radio. While working in radio, Alix also became the first female pit-lane commentator at Scotland's premier motor racing circuit, Knockhill. Since her first appearance in the pit-lane, Alix Capper-Murdoch has also worked in the same role at Rockingham Motor Speedway and Dubai Autodrome. Career In Motorsport After a spell at Knockhill and Rockingham, Alix spent some time working for Xcel Motorsport, a racing team competing in the British Touring Car Championship and ASCAR Series. In 2004 she moved to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, where she took over as the morotrsport specialist and sports presenter on Dubai Eye 103.8 and later Radio 2. Alix now hosts two motoring programs, Motorsport Talk and Full Throttle with the editor of F1 Racing Magazine, Damien Reid. In 2005, Alix became the first female motor racing instructor in the region when Dubai Autodrome opened their race school, a position she still holds. As well as the only female instructor at the circuit, Alix also commentates on the National Race Championships and 24hr Karting at the circuit. In 2006, Alix Capper-Murdoch took up the role as the GP2 co-commentator for Ten Sports Television. In 2007, she became the first ever, female, lead commentator in motorsport. By 2007, Alix took on the role of television pit-lane commentator for the new Speedcar Series, a support race to F1. In 2008 she had been promoted to lead commentator for the Speedcar Series and GP2 Asia working with FOM. In 2009, Alix has hosted the F1 Renault Roadshow, the Chequered Flag Ball with BBC commentators, Martin Brundle and David Coulthard, and became the commentator for F1 Fanzone at the inaugural Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with her long time co-host Damien Reid. Alix Capper-Murdoch also commentates for the Dubai Motocross Championships and Desert Rally events. Media career Although Alix Capper-Murdoch is unknown for her motorsport achievements, she also writes for various magazines, presents on radio and is a club DJ. In 2005, Alix was the resident DJ at a bar in Dubai's Madinat area. This year Alix also worked as a stunt double on a new film, set for release in early 2010.
