Alison Norrington

Alison Norrington is an English author, PhD researcher, transmedia writer/strategist/producer and CEO at storycentralDIGITAL. She is Online Community Manager for TEDx Transmedia (Geneva, Sept 2010) and consults to publishers and university presses globally on utilising social media and transmedia strategies.

Norrington was born in Essex, to an Essex/Wexford family. She grew up in Brentwood, Essex and has spent many years dividing her time between Essex, UK, New York, USA & Wexford, Ireland.

Norrington showcased her first play, A Fish & A Bonsai, at The Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch in May 2004 and her second as a rehearsed reading - Pistols at Dawn - on 31 October 2007.

Norrington has written numerous articles for national & international media such as The Irish Star, Irish Tatler, Evening Herald and has been a regular contributor to Woman's Way. She has appeared on Irish national television to discuss her books, 'Ireland am' on TV3, with Marian Keyes to discuss Women's Aid as part of Thirty and Fabulous anthology and also on 'Open House' on RTÉ. She has written in the United Kingdom for Times Educational Supplement, Daily Mail and Real magazine.
Norrington acquired an MA in Creative Writing & New Media where she began to create online stories at www.bluffworx.com MA in Creative Writing and New Media at De Montfort University in Leicester, UK.
She commenced her practice-based PhD in January 2009 researching Transmedia Storytelling in Publishing - (emerging platforms for writers, fragmented interaction & pervasive media). She blogs at www.storycentralDIGITAL.wordpress.com and tweets as @storycentral
