Alexander C.Morley

Alexander C. Morley (born February 24, 1989 in Phoenix, Arizona) is an American author, short story, and novel writer. All of his work has been self-published. Most of his peers consider him a “young” Murakami, sharing similar ideas, and focusing on literary fiction with metaphysical elements.
Work
Morley began writing at a young age, but began composing his ideas into novel as a senior in high school. His first self-published novel was “Imagine a Bird Dashing Through Familiar Territory…” is a tale of a dysfunctional family through the course of eight days. After graduation, Morley attended The Evergreen State College and began writing a second novel titled “An Everlasting Gobstopper.” This is a story of a young adult whose choices affect everything around as he deals with his reality and schizophrenia.
After self-releasing “An Everlasting Gobstopper,” Morley wrote a short story for one of programs in school. Titled “Introducing Fletcher” this short story was well received by his instructors and fellow students. It was published in “Print For Breathing.” This story is a take on Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy. It’s told in the point of view of the syndrome itself.
As his college career was coming to an end, he took the summer and escaped to Michigan to work his Grandfather’s farm. He wrote his well-received novel, “Hart” .Morley considers this to be his first true novel, which is the first installment of his “H” series. This novel is great in length extending over 600 pages. This novel is about a sex addict who tries to find himself and on his journey is introduced into the a metaphysical world as if all the veils between all realms broke. It’s where animals talk, Waldo’s exists, wormholes transpire, Faeries flutter, and a coming-of-self while trying to free himself from himself.
Shortly after graduation, Morley moved to Florida to write “Hiccup”, the second installment of the “H” series, however, he decided to stop writing “Hiccup”, because he claims that his “imagination is too vast to be condensed and conveyed in a writing format for ‘Hiccup’”
He then began writing a series of short-stories that focus on the awkward interactions of relationships between couples, animals and humans, and even different species of animals. These short stories are titled “Blank,” “Broom,” “The Back of My Throat Itches and I Like the Way You Eat,” (which is considered one of his best short stories) “Art, Shadows, and Dogs,” (which was the birth of “Jorma’s Bath”) and “Squirrels, Peacocks, Siamese Twins, and All That is Between Those Silly Sins.”
Most recently, Morley self-published his newest novel, which sold out all his copies in three days. “Jorma’s Bath” is a tale of a young boy in 1899 who encounters grave and eerie occurrences. While trying to uncover a strange sequence of missing cat posters, he is introduced into a darker secret his town holds.
Currently, Morley is working on rewriting a second edition of “Hart” and a new story called “The Maestro.”
