Alex Daniel (born June 4, 1985) is an amateur American actor best known for his role as the villain Jesse in the independent film All Hell Broke Loose. Daniel began his acting career during a short stint as a bartender after dropping out of Clemson University. He first appeared as an extra in Army Wives before meeting Christopher Forbes and being cast in his first major role. Biography Early life Daniel was born in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of Stephen and Charlene Daniel. Both his parents are of Italian descent. His mother owns a toy shop and his father is a doctor. He is the only actor in his family. Daniel attended Bishop England High School on Daniel Island in South Carolina, but he was not active in any clubs or sports, including drama. He graduated in 2003. After high school, Daniel went on to Clemson University. His major changed several times, from engineering to undeclared to English to theater before he finally pulled out due to dissatisfaction with the theater opportunities at the school. He moved back to Charleston and began work as a bartender. Career Daniel began his acting career with numerous small roles in local television and film productions. He has appeared as an extra in two episodes of Army Wives, both times as a dead body. Motivated by these small successes, Daniel kept searching for a bigger role despite the general lack of opportunities in Charleston and his own lack of an adequate portfolio. In 2008, Daniel met Christopher Forbes at the bar where he was working. Forbes told him about an independent film he was creating starring David Carradine. Daniel donated $2,500 towards the production and was cast as one of the villainous cowboys, Jesse. The movie was filmed on location in California and in a ghost town in North Carolina. The movie was originally called Long Shot, but the title was changed to All Hell Broke Loose before being released to DVD. The film premiered at Cinebarre in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Daniel was deeply shaken by the death of David Carradine, which was discovered on Daniel's 24th birthday. He stated in a local interview that he briefly considered giving up acting but realized that Carradine would have wanted him to persevere. Forbes is moving ahead with a sequel to All Hell Broke Loose despite the loss of Carradine, but Daniel is not expected to reprise his role as Jesse due to that character's death in the first film. Personal life Daniel is unmarried and has no kids. He currently lives in Charleston, but he has expressed in interviews a desire to move to California in order to explore further acting opportunities. Daniel sings in the choir at Stella Maris Catholic Church on Sullivan's Island, South Carolina. Daniel is a dog lover, particularly golden retrievers. He also enjoys kayaking, video games, and competitive eating.
