Summaries of the various AlDub Episodes
August 8, 2015

The AlDub couple's near-encounters on live television also became pivotal throughout the series. In the show's August 8, 2015 episode, which featured a wedding between the "YaKie" tandem, Richards and Mendoza were originally supposed to meet in person for the first time. However, Mendoza collapsed while performing on live television and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, resulting in an improvisation by the segment's remaining characters, including Alden himself.
August 12, 2015

In its August 12, 2015 episode, Yaya Dub appeared at the Broadway Centrum's TAPE Eastside Studio for her Cinderella-like performance on Eat Bulaga!s "Bulaga Pa More!" segment. The episode was highly anticipated as it was Richard's and Mendoza's chance to meet at the studio in person but Lola Nidora interrupted the meeting, first by issuing a labor challenge to Alden and later on as a witch to Mendoza's Cinderella performance. Alden missed Yaya Dub by a few seconds as she ran out of the studio to escape from Lola Nidora's (as the witch) curse. The episode marked the first, closest rendezvous between the two.
September 5, 2015

On September 5, 2015, Richards and Mendoza both participated in the Bulaga Pa More! Dabarkads edition Wildcard round, competing against each other. Prior to the event, Lola Nidora made Yaya Dub and Alden promise not to meet with each other as her condition for allowing Yaya Dub to participate in the segment. On the actual day of the competition, Richards and Mendoza finally saw each other for the first time backstage after her performance, disobeying Lola Nidora's wishes in the process. As the two were about to get closer, an enraged Lola Nidora blocked their paths by dropping a wall between them. She then harshly reprimanded the two romantic leads for being untrue to their promise. As she proceeded to deliver a litany about the value of one's word and the essence of trust, two unknown men wearing face masks (balaclavas) kidnapped Yaya Dub from Broadway and whisked her away in a van. Nidora implored Alden's help and had the wall raised so he can pursue Yaya Dub's kidnappers but it was too late.
September 10, 2015

On September 10, 2015, Alden was also kidnapped from the studio. Two days later (September 12), it was revealed that the couple's kidnapper was DuhRizz (Bayola), Lola Nidora's socialite granddaughter from New York who was also in love with Alden and jealous of her grandmother's affection for Yaya Dub. DuhRizz brought both Richards and Mendoza to a parking lot but in separate vans. She then allowed the two to meet face to face through the van's windows while still tied-up. Afterwards, DuhRizz proceeded to put them in a blindfold and taunted them by letting them bump into each other without their knowledge. She also made the couple drink from the same straw of her Starbox Coffee. Later on, she apologized for including Alden in her jealousy against her grandmother's ward and proceeded to return him to safety while she continues to taunt Yaya Dub. As Alden was being released, Tinidora (Manalo) and Tidora (Ballesteros) arrived at the crime scene to rescue Yaya Dub, confront their grandniece DuhRizz and convinced her renounce her jealousy and envy for Yaya Dub. Tinidora and Tidora also asked Yaya Dub to forgive DuhRizz for hurting her. DuhRizz, visibly upset and shaken, walked away. The episoded ended after Tinidora and Tidora received a call about Nidora's health condition.
The incident of the kidnapping and the involvement of her granddaughter seemed to have softened Lola Nidora a little towards Alden and Yaya Dub as a couple as she finally allowed the two of them to go on their first date under certain "conditions." The date was given as Lola Nidora's gift during their second monthsary and was set to happen on a Saturday, September 19, 2015.
September 19, 2015

On September 19, 2015, both Richards and Mendoza saw each other again after successfully passing a matching game set by Lola Nidora. However, both Alden and Yaya Dub were unable to get closer as a long table was set as the venue of their date. This is part of Lola Nidora's conditions in allowing the two to meet. Apart from a long table, a standee of Lola Nidora was also placed at the center which prevented them from trying to get close to each other. Lola Nidora then admitted that she only set the date to test if she can start to trust both Alden and Yaya Dub after disobeying her wishes during the Bulaga Pa More! Dabarkads Pa More! Wildcard Round. Learning from their past mistake, both Alden and Yaya Dub contented themselves with the set up. The date was interrupted after Yaya Dub heard an alarm clock which signals that time for Lola Nidora's medication. Deeming her responsibility to her guardian as important, Yaya Dub quickly leaves Alden in order to get back to Nidora until suddenly Maine's character gets involved in a car accident in which she later survived.
September 26, 2015
One week later, on September 26, 2015, both Richards and Mendoza finally met up-close and personal for the first time after Lola Nidora allowed the couple to have a "second date." Nidora announced the second date as her gift as the couple celebrated their 10th weeksary (a variation to anniversary). She said that she felt responsible for cutting the couple's first date short and explained that she decided to give them a chance for a second date as she felt that she could trust Alden and Yaya Dub again after proving themselves during the first date. Lola Nidora then proceeded to formally invite Alden to her mansion so that he could formally visit Yaya Dub and court her. However, Lola Nidora gave three conditions in which Alden had to comply. The first that Alden and Yaya Dub are allowed to get close to each other (1 ft. distance) but without touching. The second is that Alden must bring "chicharon," a Filipino delicacy, to the mansion as his gift to Lola Nidora and the third is that Alden must sing what is considered the couple's theme song, "God Gave Me You." Alden carefully complied to all of Lola Nidora's wishes but unintentionally broke the "no-touch rule" when he passed a glass of water to Yaya Dub during lunch when she almost choked by the cake they were eating. The episode marked the first time that the couple interacted and communicated with each other in close proximity. It also generated record breaking tweets on twitter.
October 3, 2015
On October 3, 2015, The De Explorer Sisters and Yaya Dub (Mendoza) visited Broadway for the first time. Lola Nidora requested the visit to the Eat Bulaga family as she wanted to personally introduce Yaya Dub to Alden's Dabarkads (the term they use to refer to the hosts, staffs and people in and behind Eat Bulaga). This marked Mendoza's first "on-screen" meeting with veteran comedians Tito, Vic and Joey. Tidora (Ballesteros) was notably absent from the visit because of an airplane delay. Lola Nidora almost changed her mind about the whole visit after she saw the table that the Dabarkads prepared for Alden and Yaya Dub, complaining that it was "too small." TVJ, however, convinced her to stay by serenading her. Alden appeared on the stage last, bearing flowers for Lola Nidora and Tinidora and for Yaya Dub. Lola Nidora proceeded to challenge Alden to a game of "scissors-papers-stone," declaring that if Alden wins, she will allow him to shake Yaya Dub's hand. Alden did win the challenge and the couple were able to "officially shake hands" for the first time. Allan K. (one of the hosts) then proceeded to introduced Lola Nidora to the audience causing her to turn her back to Alden and Yaya Dub. Tinidora assured her sister that she will supervise the couple. Instead of being strictly conservative, however, Tinidora allowed the couple to share drinks from a coconut and sit side by side. In this episode, Mendoza's Yaya Dub (who had been periodically speaking since her car accident) sang a short duet of "Wish I May" with Richards. It was also in this episode that Lola Nidora requested a swap between Alden and Yaya Dub. She decided to leave Yaya Dub in the studio so that the Dabarkads can train her more (presumably in hosting) as she takes Alden to the barangay to further prove his devotion in courting Yaya Dub by doing acts of service. As Tito, Vic and Joey agreed to Nidora's request, a phone call prompted them to cut the visit short. Nidora proceeded to take Alden with her while Yaya Dub was left to the care of the Dabarkads.
October 17, 2015
On October 17, 2015, Lola Nidora presented another gift to the couple in the form of "Tamang Panahon" (In the Right Time), pertaining to Lola Nidora's consistent litany that Alden and Yaya Dub will be allowed to pursue their feelings for each other "Sa Tamang Panahon" (In The Right Time). She then invited Alden to visit her "bungalow" (as the Philippine Arena) on the following Saturday for a benefit concert. In this episode, Lola Nidora's long lost sister, Lola Isadora, appeared. She was originally believed to be Yaya Dub's real mother. However, Isadora also revealed that far from being the girl's mother, she was actually Yaya Dub's grandmother and that her real mom named Ursula died in childbirth.
October 24, 2015
On October 24, 2015, the most awaited "Sa Tamang Panahon" happened at the Philippine Arena. Lola Nidora invited not only Alden but also the Dabarkads of Eat Bulaga. The event was treated as a benefit concert where the three Lola's all performed a dance number. Their younger selves also made an appearance and performed period dances. In this episode, more information was revealed about Yaya Dub's actress, Maine Mendoza, who had remained largely mysterious in the months following her inclusion to Eat Bulaga and the Aldub craze. During the event, Richards and Mendoza were able to talk face to face, touch, hold hands and hug each other without hindrance from Lola Nidora or even other antagonists of the Kalyeserye series.
Alden and Yaya Dub's meeting happened right after Yaya Dub's Cinderella waltz number. Alden donned a suit fit for a prince charming and entered the arena bearing a box of roses and a gift while Mendoza wore a Cinderella gown as she waited on stage to finally meet and be close to Richards. The two met at the center and Lola Nidora appeared to formally allow the two of them to get closer to each other. Richards then proceeded to deliver a heartfelt message for Mendoza face to face and followed it up by singing their theme song, "God Gave Me You." During the song, Richards became emotional and promptly hugged Mendoza which she returned with a hug of her own. Afterwards, Lola Nidora, Tidora and Tinidora appeared on stage and requested Mendoza to answer Richards' message. Mendoza's message to Richards prompted another emotional outburst from him that led to another heartfelt embrace. Mendoza, in a caring gesture, proceeded to wipe Richards' teary eyes before continuing with her message. The three lolas then asked the couple to do a dubsmash together and to dance to their first waltz set to an instrumental version of their theme song.
"Maine, ang tagal kong hinintay 'tong chance na 'to. To say that: 'God Gave Me You.' Ang layo na ng narating natin. Dalawang taong naghahanap, finally, nagkita na rin. Salamat sa'yo." (Maine, I waited for a long time for this chance. To say that: "God Gave Me You." We've been through so much... two people searching (for something), finally, we met. Thank you.)
--Alden Richards to Maine Mendoza
"Alden, thank you. Alam mo, ipinagdasal ko talaga itong araw na ito. Ganun din naman yung gusto kong sabihin sa'yo: God gave me you. Ang daming nagbago sa buhay natin... ang dami nang nangyari... pero may mga bagay pa ring hindi magbabago... Isa doon, ikaw at ako." (Alden, thank you. You know, I prayed for this day. To tell you the same thing: God gave me you. So many things have changed in our lives... so many things have happened... but some things will always remain... Among them, you and I.)
--Maine Mendoza to Alden Richards
The episode also marked their first production number together and a number of other milestones without the hindrance of Lola Nidora or even a split screen communication. Both Richards and Mendoza were unable to keep from being emotional as the culmination of everything their characters had been through in the past couple of months reached the climax in the episode. Fans were also receptive of the event and managed to reach record-breaking tweets of 41 million in 24 hours.
