Alameda Muslim League

The Alameda Muslim League is a Sunni Muslim organization in Hayward, Alameda County, California. It is a not-for-profit organization under California law, formed March 7, 1991. The League operates a mosque at its location in Downtown Hayward. The current president (as of 2011) is Amjad Khan.
It was founded by Haji Ibrahim Khan, currently the treasurer, and other community Muslims in Hayward who saw the need to establish a mosque in the local area.
In 2002, the Hayward City Planning Commission opposed the construction of a two-story, 11,000 sq. foot mosque proposed by the League for a separate residential-zoned section of the city. Approximately 200 local residents petitioned the city as being opposed to the construction, primarily claiming it would increase traffic.
The Alameda Muslim League Center provides services.
