AjlDocs is a document automation and generation software package currently owned and marketed by Ajlsoft, Inc. Version 1.0 was first introduced in 2006 and has been enhanced continuously since then. Intelligent documents may be created utilizing rules created in AjlRules, another product of Ajlsoft.
HotDocs is a development tool that helps users to easily embed complex logic into Microsoft Office documents. The result is a document that adapts to changing data, as well as allowing data to be changed from within the document. This data can then be synchronized with a central server and pushed to all other viewers of the document. Documents can also be bundled together into a "suite" which can contain various documents using a common set of rules and data.
AjlRules, used to create rules for use in AjlDocs, can range from simple data substitutions (similar to mail merge) to complex logic including repetitions over multiple variables, recursion, etc. All of this logic is built by dragging and dropping statements into a rule. The same rule can then be used within multiple document formats in AjlDocs, as well as in other programs designed to take advantage of AjlRules functionality.
Also included with AjlDocs is a server that stores the users projects, rules, and documents in a common repository. This allows for easy collaboration and version control between users in an organization.
