Àdhamh Ó Broin, born 3 June 1979, is a Scottish Gaelic minority language activist, specializing in the revitalization of Dalriada Gaelic and other peripheral Gaelic dialects. He has been raising his children to speak this previously moribund Gaelic dialect. A supporter of Scottish independence, Ó Broin has used his musicianship in favor of the cause, recording a Scots language song with Gaelic singer Eilidh Grant. Ó Broin has criticized the dialect leveling ongoing in Scottish Gaelic, referring to standard Mid-Minch Gaelic as "book Gaelic" and stating that its speakers are "linguistically alienated from the actual native speakers on the ground." He won the "International Award" at the 2016 Scottish Gaelic Awards.
