AfterBurn

AfterBurn is an annual regional event held in Florida, generally on the second weekend of November. Radical self-reliance and self-expression are the goals, and community is emphasized. AfterBurn has its roots in the annual Burning Man festival in Nevada. Art, Music, Fire and other forms of Creativity -- including performance art, large-scale temporary constructions and alternative engineering -- are welcome. There is no vending on site (not even ice) -- a Gift economy amongst participants is encouraged, and cash transactions are strictly forbidden... proceeds from the admission fee go directly towards covering event expenses. Come prepared to feed, hydrate, clothe and shelter yourself for the duration. AfterBurn is a leave no trace event. As at Burning Man, all citizens are encouraged to participate in some way rather than being spectators to others' participation.
