Career
Drawing on more than fifteen years of clinical work, organizational consulting—including six years at the prestigious Scripps Hospital in La Jolla, CA—and her own spiritual practice, Dr. Ahern has developed unique tools for her clients to use. These techniques bridge the disciplines of psychology, neurophysiology, and natural healing, and use meditative breath work to heal gaps between the mind, heart, and body. She communicates her methods for training your brain for peak performance through speaking engagements, workshops, her private practice, and her CDs. She has worked with hundreds of clients who have benefited from her simple yet profound methods. Dr. Ahearn teaches peak performers, including Olympic athletes, industry leaders and nationwide corporations.
Education
Dr. Ahearn received her master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of San Francisco, and a second master’s degree and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology. She spent seven years as a psychologist at ScrippsHealth and Mercy Hospital in San Diego, while maintaining her private practice.
Books
Dr. Adrianne Ahearn is the author of Snap Out of it Now!, a 4- step guide for those who feel out of synch with their true essence. Her methods are ideal for people who engage in destructive relationships, allow stress to derail their careers and personal lives, struggle to maintain a diet, fail under pressure, and struggle with low self esteem.
According to Ken Druck, Ph.D and author of How to Talk to Your Kids About School Violence, “Snap Out of It Now! is like a personal GPS for turning your life around. Without one ounce of fat, it's a professional coach in a book written by one of the nation's top performance psychologists."
Dr. Adrianne Ahearn's newest book, Back In Charge!, deals with different facets of life that challenge us on a daily basis. Specificially, Dr. Ahearn focuses on improving attitudes towards careers, health, and relationships. Dr. Ahearn suggests that the hardwiring in our brains prevents individuals from achieving desired health, career-goals, and overall well-bring. Back in Charge! breaks down the complexities of the brain's physiology, and illustrates how to apply recent breakthroughs in neuropsychology to daily life. Tackling issues that range from yoyo diets to financial difficulties to dysfunctional relationships, the book provides examples and take-home exercises that help increase focus, gain confidence, reduce the negative impacts of stress, and increase energy and joy.
Back In Charge! includes two interactive CD’s to teach you specific brain exercises that can be done anywhere, anytime.
