Actualidades is an educational magazine and website aimed primarily at teens learning Spanish in the United States. It is published monthly and features articles on Latin American and Spanish music, movies, comic strips, entertainment, news, and art. Regular features include Clozeline (cloze activities based on song lyrics), Tírate a escribir (creative writing prompts based on comic strips), Pelipareja (reading comprehension activities based on movie posters) and Noticigrama (crosswords based on recent news). Currently it is distributed free of cost online.
It has been reviewed independently and recommended for use by peer-reviewed journals in the field of language learning, such as (published by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese) and The Language Educator (published by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages).
