Academy of Entrepreneurship and Business Management

The Academy of Entrepreneurship and Business Management (AEBM) is a Nigeria-based professional body offering entrepreneurship education and qualifications in entrepreneurship and business management and related subjects. The head office of the Academy is in Kaduna whereby it owns its premises. As at December 2014, it had 3,800 members and 1,280 registered students.
History
The Academy was established in 2012 under the Corporate Affairs Commission, Nigeria. The establishment of the academy started in April 2012 when the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Education wrote to the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in a letter reference No.FME/TED/A&E/ANPB/XI/173, dated 2 April 2012 given their approval for establishment of the academy. In the same vein, on the 31st July, 2012; the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Justice in a letter reference No.LE.36/S/1569/1/7 to the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) given their approval for the establishment of the academy. On the 6th August, 2012 the certificate of establishment of the academy was issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) making it an academy for entrepreneurship education and business management education in Nigeria.
Membership
The membership of the academy consists of two categories:
* The first category of membership is the “Certified Entrepreneur and Business Manager” with designation letters of ‘CEBM’.
* The second category and being the highest grade of membership is the “Fellow of Entrepreneurship and Business Manager” with the designation letters of ‘FEBM’.
To be admitted into the grade of “CEBM”, a candidate must have:
* passed the Academy's professional examinations
* or have a B.Sc. or Higher National Diploma in entrepreneurship or business management and have not less than five years working experience on a senior job position in related filed.
To be admitted into the category of “FEBM”, a candidate must :
* Be a holder of certificate of membership for the grade of “CEBM” with five years’ post qualification.
* or holder of a master's degree in entrepreneurship or business management with three years working on a senior job position in related field.
